Congratulations to Karen Pundsack, the new Executive Director of the Great River Regional Library!

The Board of Trustees of the Great River Regional Library seeks a collaborative and forward-thinking leader to serve as Executive Director.

With the enthusiastic support of the library Board of Trustees and staff, the Executive Director will lead the library forward with the development of a new library organization and vision.

Headquartered in St. Cloud, the Great River Regional Library is a consolidated regional library system in central Minnesota. It consists of 32 branch libraries that provide service to more than 450,000 residents of six counties within a 5,000 square mile area.

The Executive Director will be expected to:
  • Establish strong relationships built on trust
  • Develop and implement a clear vision for the library organization
  • Lead the staff and the library system in a highly professional manner, fostering teamwork and collaboration
This opportunity requires an individual with:
  • A sense of humor, intellectual curiosity, and an openness to new ideas
  • Effective communication skills, including an emphasis on collaborative work
  • Strong leadership with the ability to inspire staff, board and community
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, politically savvy, and the ability to serve as an effective ambassador to the communities of the GRRL
Additional Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Must have a Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited school
  • Understanding of current and emerging library technology and trends
Salary $92,000 to $120,000 based on qualifications. Excellent benefits.
