New Richmond, "The City Beautiful," is located in St. Croix County in northwest Wisconsin. Approximately 9,000 people live in the City of New Richmond and almost 90,000 live within the county limits. The region is part of the Minneapolis - St. Paul MN - WI Combined Statistical Area, home to more than 4 million people. The Twin Cities have been experiencing notable growth in recent years and this has resulted in St. Croix County enjoying significant and sustained growth as well.

The St. Croix Valley is a picturesque region, rich in scenic vistas and charming small towns, yet less than an hour's drive from a major metropolitan area. I-94 and Wisconsin state highway 64 provide quick access between the Twin Cities and various points in St. Croix County. Air service is available via the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport.

The St. Croix River, in addition to being a first-class waterway for recreational purposes, is also a beautiful backdrop to some of the most historic and unique cities in the region, including Hudson, Wisconsin and Stillwater, Minnesota. With low unemployment and numerous cultural attractions, historical sites, and outdoor activities to enjoy, it's easy to see why this area of Wisconsin and Minnesota continues to grow and prosper.

As an example of progressive and innovative thinking, the City of New Richmond has implemented a Community Solar Garden. A solar electric array, connected to the utility grid, is utilized by local residents, businesses and other organizations. Subscribers share solar production and in turn receive a credit on their monthly electric bill.
